Unit Description

Sodexo Healthcare is seeking an Accounting Analyst to support multi-service operations at 12 Acute Care Hospitals in Cleveland Ohio. The Multi- Service offerings are FNS (Food and Nutrition), EVS (Housekeeping), HTM (Biomed Equip), FM (Facilties Management), and Construction. The Accountant will report directly to the Finance Director within the Healthcare Segment at the Client location, with dotted line reporting to service line leaders.

We are looking for candidates with the ability for:

  • management support of unit financials including but not limited to spreadsheets, databases, Evision and UFS, Oracle, SSI and overall invoice processing and payments;
  • provide financial and analytical support for operations and service level finance to assist in financial decision-making process;
  • Supports the weekly/monthly/quarterly/year-end close process to ensure accuracy and integrity of results at the unit level;
  • supports the periodic closing and analysis by working with the finance team to ensure that local activities are properly accounted for in the period and adequately explained
  • supports the budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Adhoc support with developing, preparing and analyzing financial client reports needed for month end close, planning, budgeting, cost control, invoicing etc;

The ideal candidate will:

  • have strong knowledge of accounting policies and procedures, familiarity with accounting processes of a large company, strong analytical skills and advanced proficiency in finance related computer applications;
  • have the ability to apply GAAP and IFRS, internal policies and procedures, and provide objective accounting judgment in the production of accurate and reliable financial reports for Sodexo and its clients;
  • support customization of non-standard operating statements, executive summaries and centralized billings;
  • have the ability to develop working relationships with field operators and the ability to interpret, analyze and explain financial information – this includes understanding financial data and accurately interpreting financial statements and reports, identifying the key factors;
  • excellent organizational, presentation, and communication skills, and an ability to respect deadlines;
  • minimally, a 2-year degree is required

Position Summary

Has working knowledge and experience in own discipline. Assists in the maintenance of accounting policies and controls, fiscal controls, preparing financial reports and safeguarding the organization’s assets. Maintains accounting and financial records and reports, including general ledger, financial statements, regulatory and management reports. Continues to build knowledge of the organization, processes and customers. Performs a range of mainly straightforward assignments. Uses prescribed guidelines or policies to analyze and resolve problems. Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement – Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience

Basic Functional Experience – 2 years
