POSITION SUMMARY:

The position Sr. Accounts Payable Associate will be responsible for 3-way matching and non-PO invoice processing in the SAP environment while sustaining internal controls as outlined in the Accounts Payable procedures.

The Sr. AP Associate will ensure that the needs of the company, vendors and plant personnel are consistently met. This includes completing all Accounts Payable functions timely and accurately while working in a fast paced, high performance environment.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES and TASKS

  • Daily processing of AP invoices via 3-way match, with the expectation to maintain high degree of accuracy and timeliness
  • Daily processing of PO and non-PO vendor invoices in SAP.
  • Reconciliation of vendor accounts using statements, open or paid voucher information in the system.
  • Establish and maintain open communication with internal and external customers.
  • Provide timely customer service for all calls, emails and questions from vendors, internal and external customers.
  • Special projects as assigned by management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years previous accounts payable experience, preferably in a high-volume 3-way matching environment within the last year.
  • Ability to work overtime as determined by management to meet changing deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written with the ability to maintain a professional approach at all times.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team environment, with a comfort level working independently as required.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong keyboarding skills.
  • Desire and commitment to working in a fast paced, deadline oriented environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of MS Office and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), SAP proficiency is required
  • Experience with Basware is ideal but not required
  • Experience with JDE is ideal but not required
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills including creating formulas, pivot tables and V-lookups.

Specific vision abilities required by the position include:

  • Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less).
  • Distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more).
  • Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors).
  • Peripheral vision (ability to observe and area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point).
  • Ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus).

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

Will regularly be exposed to:

  • Work with other functional groups within SSC and also NAM Finance to resolve issues related to the accuracy and timeliness of payments.
